Charity Balls
Charity Balls are a very good way of fundraising for a good cause. I have undertaken the role of both the DJ and host for many charity events. I have compered the evening and I have taken charge of the schedule of events. Many other DJs lack this type of experience and if you are looking for someone to not only provide the music and lights, but to play an active role in raising as much money as possible, please get in touch with me and we can discuss your requirements.

One of my most recent events was held at The George Hotel at Piercebridge-on-Tees, near Darlington. I was hired by the Clarke and Fuller families to take charge of their ball. I had successfully performed at a wedding reception for one of their family members and they had no hesitation in asking me to take charge of this important and personal charity night. In fact, recommendations from previous customers play a vital part in my work and I am proud to see clients come back to me year on year.
Huge Success
This event was in aid of cancer services in the North East region and to raise awareness of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. The night
was a huge success and special thanks must be made to all the local businesses that helped out. Everyone had a wonderful evening and, most importantly, more than £5,000 was raised.
As with many events, there is an awful lot of planning that goes on before the event and I was in close contact with the organisers to make sure that we had everything in place to make the night a success. I used my background in Journalism to assist the two families with getting the event promoted before and after the charity ball. I helped get the local newspapers to come out and interview Stephen Fuller and some of his family members.
There were many fundraising initiatives and these included a raffle with many generous prizes from local businesses - one of the most sought after prizes was a sack of potatoes! That lucky lady took her prize in good grace as it was more important that the money was going to a good cause.
Former Sunderland footballer Eric Gates made a presentation and was also in charge of putting together the quiz.
Discount
While I do charge for my services at charity events, I will offer a discount if it is a bona-fide fundraising event. I cannot offer these services free of charge as this is my only source of income and you wouldn't expect other bands, entertainers or service providers to work for free. Clients should also be aware that if you put in place good food, good company and good entertainment, you are more likely to raise even more money.
To find out how I can help with your event, please do not hesitate to give me a call on the telephone numbers listed at the top of each web page. You can also e-mail or use the contact form on my Contact Details page.
