Mood Lighting Gallery
One of the most effective places to use Mood Lighting is in marquees. Many couples hold the celebration of their marriage in a marquee and many couples are keen to transform the inside of their marquee to fit in with their tastes. They also want their event to stand out from other similar celebrations. They want their function to be unique and individual.
Many clients are mesmerised by the subtle but highly effective Mood Lighting packages I offer. They are keen to take up this service as it makes their function unique, individual and also memorable.

The picture above was taken during the speeches and it really shows off the great photo opportunities and the change of atmosphere that Mood Lighting can bring to your event. The marquee walls and ceiling were plain white, but with the LED effects I was able to create a totally different theme to that part of the marquee. The effects also add depth and warmth to the atmosphere in the room or marquee.
Professional Wedding Photographers have praised some of the Mood Lighting packages I have installed at venues and in marquees. They have told me that the Mood Lighting gives a completely different style of photograph to the Wedding Photo Album they offer their customers.

I've had a number of clients ask for no disco lighting for their special event. Many of them do not want to turn their special occasion into a nightclub with strobe lighting, lasers or other similar lighting effects. They would rather have a more sophisticated colour scheme for their event.
When I show prospective customers the picture above, they are keen to know more about this service and how I can help transform their venue with Mood Lighting.
I've had other DJs tell me that they need disco lighting to help create the right atmosphere to encourage people to dance. However, all the events where my customers have asked for minimal or no disco lighting have been a huge success and people have still thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations and my clients have been ecstatic about my performance and setup.
I now firmly believe that there is not always a need for flashing or rotating images on the walls or floor. The choice of lighting packages is something I leave open to my customers and if they want a nightclub environment they can have it. If they want subtle or minimal disco lighting, that request can also be accommodated. I firmly believe in delivering what my customers want.
The picture to the left depicts the fireplace at The Monboucher Suite at Beamish Hall in Stanley, County Durham. This is the section of the room that was set aside for the disco.
The alcove gave me a perfect opportunity to subtly emphasise that part of the function room. I had full control of the Mood Lighting effects and I was able to change the intensity and colour of the lights throughout the night.
The photographers at this Wedding Reception commented on the highly professional approach to my job and the attention to detail and the appearance of my setup. Nigel and Christina Davison from 2Tone Creative Photography kindly offered to take some professional images of my setup as they were that impressed.
I included this very basic Mood Lighting setup to gather feedback from clients and guests as to whether they would have liked other parts of the room to be highlighted or emphasised with these effects. In this instance, my clients gave extremely favourable comments about the Mood Lighting.
You can also see that I have a high attention to detail and I do not leave cables hanging down or trailing across the floor.

The picture below shows only four LED Mood Lighting effects illuminating the side of the room that the disco usually sets up in at Kirkley Hall in Northumberland.
The picture to the right shows how the Mood Lighting sets a totally different look and atmosphere to the room. The staff seemed shocked when they saw my setup and I doubt any of the DJs that had performed there before had such a keen eye for detail and tidiness.

The picture above depicts the subtle 'Mood Lighting' along one side of the function room. In this instance, my clients did not want a big lightshow and they wanted their exclusive function to be appropriately lit. I decided that the LED lighting along the walls and a lighting effect pointing at the ceiling would meet the needs of my clients.
In this example, the happy couple had spent the day in the same room for their Wedding Breakfast. They then left to explore other parts of the hotel and allow myself and the staff to get setup for the evening celebrations.
When my clients returned to the room, the first thing the Bride (Mrs Carlton) said was: "John, you have transformed the room and it looks fantastic! This is just what I wanted and we just can't believe how the room has changed from earlier in the day."
Feedback from Mr & Mrs Carlton can be found on the Client Comments section of the site.
I used another subtle, eye-catching and very effective light to transform the tiled ceiling of the venue (pictured below). I think it is appropriate to note that the lights were not in the eye-line of the guests and that the room lighting hadn't been turned down when the picture was taken. The effect on the ceiling was more prominent, but not distracting when the venue dimmed their lights.

In this instance, I was able to create just what my clients wanted for their party. The newlyweds didn't want too many flashing lights and they hired me because I was able to transform the room with the Mood Lighting package, while still creating a party atmosphere with the right music selections.

In these two pictures (above and below), I decided to highlight the back wall of the stage with the Mood Lighting effects. The top picture shows my setup area from a distance while the picture below shows a closer image of the LED lighting effects in action. The Mood Lighting was perfect way to highlight the part of the room that also had a solo singer and an after dinner speaker. It was a great way of creating a focal point without overshadowing the other parts of the room.
